Kinetic (Pretoria, South Africa)

Kinetic is a young up and coming deep house dj and producer from Pretoria South Africa. His love and good taste for music has created many great opportunities for him, putting him on stages and line-ups with some of the best acts that South Africa has to offer, the likes of Dj Christos, Vinny da Vinci, Black Coffee, Culoe de Song and many more.

He’s performed at many prestigious events, clubs and lounges around South Africa.
He is versatile and does not constraint himself to one sub genre of electronic music, though his preference is deep, tech house, soulful and funky house music, he also experiments with Nu-Jazz, Broken beat and Dub step.

He started listening to music at an early age but started deejaying in 2007 and then started making music in 2009 as he was studying Sound Engineering at the Academy of Sound Engineering based at the SABC in Auklandpark South Africa.

He has recently started a record label called Endow Rhythm Records; the label is set to release its projects on digital download sites such as Afrodesia mp3.Kinetic is looking to be one of the most respected house dj in SA and around the world.

Born and bred in Khayelitsha, Cape Town but currently lives in Johannesburg. I have a huge crush on deep/soulful house especially those ones that have instrumental values that touches your inner side. Started playing mid 2011 because of the love and currently in the process of producing. Since I started I’ve been playing at top house clubs such as La Lunar, Cornerstone, Khayalala, etc.

I am the founder of KhreeSoul Music, an up and coming label with a burning passion to make some quality house music.

"A Florida native, Phil the Decknician grew up in his adopted hometown - house music's very own birthplace, Chicago. He got his musical start around 6 years of age regularly listening to Chicago's WBMX house mixes, many times with nothing but a walkman under his pillow late at night. A number of years and instruments later he settled on turn tables as his musical weapon of choice. As most aspiring DJ's, he started out playing local area house parties, while progressively acquiring larger and more popular gigs. Soon he was playing at Chicago's biggest and most popular clubs: Crobar, Rive Gauche, Cabaret, Griffin Lounge, and V-Live to name a few.

With such influences as Depeche Mode, Jason Hodges, Bad Boy Bill, Claude Vonstroke, and Kaskade, it is easy to see how his musical style can adapt to the tastes of his listeners at the drop of a transition, easily moving from one genre to the next as needed.

Having an extremely diverse musical palette, it is difficult to pigeon hole Phil the Decknician's playing manner into one particular genre. With a style that can range from tech house to electro, funky to deep, with a bit of nu disco and indie dance thrown in for good measure; it is easy to see why many consider Phil’s music multi-dimensional. His ability to get a feel for the crowd and their musical preference is almost uncanny, during peak moments the whole crowd undulating as one.

Always on the lookout for new opportunities to showcase his talent, Phil the Decknician has had gigs outside of Chicago and has played in both Chelm and Lodz, Poland to great acclaim. Currently, he is back in the studio working on a number of projects to be released in the upcoming months."

In the year 2000 he was one the resident DJs of the “Fantasia Revolution Tour 2000”
which found it's tour end at the Loveparade 2000.

After four years also working in the music industry (junior PM and A&R) and twelve years as a DJ he found his style of producing and playing music. Influenced by many cultures (Asia, Jordan, Dubai, Southern Europe) and people like "Die Fantastischen Vier", "Turntablerocker", "Michael Cretu" or "Fatboy Slim" it's now a mixture of Chill Out, House and Electro.

Black Motif (Hilversum, Netherlands)

It all started with a 90's dance show on a radio station in Holland called Dancetrax presented by Sven van Hees, when Mike knew he wanted to play electronic dance music. At the age of 16 he bought his first record player and vinyl records and his DJ career started. With homemade tapes of radio shows he tried to find those records with that specific sound he likes.

From Detroit, Techno, House and club, you can find it all in his record collection... Changing to digital music, Mike also made the change to CDs and MP3s, but the love and touch of vinyl never disappeared.

Working for a local radio station and taking a sound engineering classes in his hometown, his interest in producing music started, so last year Mike began producing under the name ‘Black Motif’. Producing on labels in Holland and abroad like Fatal Music and Cosmic Disco, there is much more to come. Just keep and eye on his Beatport site or Soundcloud for his latest releases.

In this mix you can find the last songs Black Motif is playing around. Old and new songs combined in a mix, from ambient tech to techno back to Deep House.

Kiyo To (Pretoria, South Africa)

I'm a Dj, Producer, Vocalist born in Soweto in Johannesburg, South Africa and grew up in most parts of the country but am currently residing in Pretoria.

I've been in the music production and mixing business for 7 years now, I started experiencing the club scene while residing Cape Town where rave and techno was dominant. I then then moved to Pretoria(the home of deep house in SA) where I was introduced a whole variety of dance music and with time I really grew into the music particularly Deep House, I first started collecting the tracks then went on to mixing and finally producing. I’ve been influenced by too many artist and producers but DJ philE and likes of Lars Behrenroth just made me want to be on another level. I then started a Recordings company with some of my friends called Kanzen Recordings, the word Kanzen is a Japanese word which actually means perfection so we are collective who strive for that.

Since I'm such a big fan of the DEEP STUFF I decided to host a website with links to some of our works and sessions to spread the word about this awesome genre of music. We have several tracks done but are finally launching them most music stores, I believe in Living To Give and Giving To Live and I do this total PEFECTION:)

daniel falkenberg was born in the lovely country bavaria, germany. he started his dj career in 1994. the first big reputation he got with his own nationwide known event series, called katzenpuff, which was founded 2002. clubs like penthouse, pacha, or p1 in munich, where the base of this party event.

now his sets are a mix of deep/ tech - & house.

BIOGRAPHIE
The tunes that I have chosen represent both my tastes in today as and the kind of beats and electronic production that first got me into listening to and DJing the deeper side of house music in the early 90's.

My early love of house was forged by listening to essential mixes and to live DJs such as Dick Johnson at Blackpool's 'Cotton Club' and the legendary Manchester Hacienda, Justin Robertson and Chemical Brothers at 'Cream' in Liverpool and many great DJs such as Alistair Whitehead at the amazing 'Feel' in Preston.

I was inspired to get my own turntables and start mixing, playing at a few venues and parties around the Lancaster area. After returning from traveling in the late 1998, I met up with DeepTransmissions and a developed a love of even deeper house which manifested in regular nights out to see the likes of Kevin Yost, Kenny Hawkes, DJ Sneak, Terry Francis, Tyrant and Danny Tenaglia at clubs in London such as Space, Plastic People, Annexe, Home, Turnmills and later Fabric.

Whilst this was all going on, I played a regular residency at the legendary 'Bar Vinyl' in London's Camden Town as well as co-promoting a regular night and DJing at nearby 'Bar Solo'. I have also since DJed at other venues in and around London including '93 Ft East'in Brick Lane and 'The Project' in Soho. Possibly some of my most legendary clubbing experiences have been in in Ibiza - Carl Cox on the terrace at Space .. BT and Oakenfold at Pasha, SvenVath at Cocoon.

I like dubby grooves, mechanical but swinging rhythms, lush sounds with Electro, Detroit, Funk and Soul nuances with an underground feel. Some of my biggest musical influences are Sasha, Kevin Saunderson, MAW, Jon Digweed, Kenny Hawkes and C-Pen.

This is just one shade of MonochromeSonics, where the light meets the dark...

I first got into mixing at the age of 10 at my grandmother's kitchen, fiddling with a double cassette deck and trying to mix together BLACK BOX and YELLO. From that age I guess I've always been into "electronic music", but gradually becoming more appreciative of the roots of house; soul, disco and funk. Today, I mainly listen to deep and soulful house, but really anything goes as long as it's music with soul - no matter what genre!

This mix features some of my favorite deep house tunes from now and back to 2000. What you will always find with my track selections is an underlying groove and touch of
soul/funk.

I hope you enjoy the mix :)

Veteran Italian DJ Steeve Mask has honed his production skills as one half of The Bulletz who have recorded and remixed for the heavy duty likes of Transport Recordings, Jay-J's Shifted Music, and Conya. Recently, he co-founded the new Fresh Cream Recordings label whose debut single is Steeve's own "Sweet Romance," out on February 8. This fantastic single finds Steeve Mask collaborating with the impressive Parisian singer Adama on a mid-tempo dancefloor groover equally comfortable on club speakers or radio broadcasts. Its eighties-style bass riff, superb vocal hook, and nu-disco synth bounce is certain to grab the attention of even the most jaded dance music fans. Hailing from New Delhi, Hamza has attained a reputation as a pioneer of the house scene in India and one of the more innovative and exciting up-and-coming producers today. Hamza's diverse international sound is influenced from his strong musical background as well as growing up in India and traveling the world, living in Paris, Boston, and New York. Exposure to renowned house DJs such as Terry Francis, Dave Mothersole, DJ Heather, and Danny Teneglia inspired Hamza to create his own electronic dance productions. Soon he found a unique style of house music combining deep, tribal, and funky sounds with strong world music influences.

Hamza has established himself as one to keep a close eye on in the house music scene. With his impressive list of past and upcoming projects as well as fiery worldwide DJ performances Hamza is quickly becoming an important and influential talent in his own right. Through Wind Horse Records and his inventive east-west fusions Hamza is working to bring the world closer to his listeners, one beat at a time.
