John "Julius" Knight (Soulfuric Music, Miami)
About John "Julius" Knight: ohn Julius Knight is best known for dancefloor hits, such as “All I Do” (Cleptomaniacs feat. Bryan Chambers), Eminence feat. Kathy Brown’s “Give It Up” and his Soulfuric Trax classic “Find A Friend”. Both as a solo artist and with long-term ‘Cleptomaniacs’ partner Brian Tappert, JJK has produced and remixed for the likes of AM:PM, Strictly Rhythm, Defected, Z Records, CR2, Soulfuric, Swing City and Soulfuric Trax.
2006 saw the launch of John’s own imprint Reversoulmusic, whose first release ‘Infrared/The Groove’ got off to a great start with airplay from Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1, a top 3 spot in the Traxsource.com sales chart and international club & radio play. Since then, the label has gone from strength to strength and is set for a strong release schedule over the following months. JJK is also one of the exclusive residents on the trend-setting Traxsource.com radio show, which airs all across the US via XM Radio ‘The Move’, in the UK via Solar Radio, as well as internationally via numerous syndication stations.
Leigh Morgan (Urbantorque Music, London)
Leigh Morgan: Leigh joined Defected Records also in 1999, working with some of the top DJ's and Producers in the world. Also DJing on the Defected Tour at Ministry Of Sound. He completed his debut production, Facedown 'Lost / Think About Me' signed to Junior Boys Own, shortly after which Leigh took up residence at Headstart, with a monthly slot at Phil Perry's Full Circle parties in the summer of 2001. His commitment to quality music took him to Subversive Records as A&R Manager. Working with artists such as Cevin Fisher and George Morel. Leigh is now back working with Jason Moore as A&R Manager for Urbantorque Records. Leigh also started up his own label Sub Rossa as an outlet for the more techier side of deep house, with 6 acclaimed EP releases on the label before time restrictions forced him to shelve the label.
Leigh has not looked back since, when not DJing, running Urbantorque, Promoting & Producing, he found time to manage the biggest download store in the uk DJmag.com (now sadly defunct), and also formed The Askesian Society with fellow house head Patrick McCourt, providing a new outlet for occasional productions and remixes. Now Leigh is embarking on the next phase of music production, learning and honing the producers art. With a handful of remixes being released in 2007 on Tsuba, Toolroom and Morrison Recordings. In 2007 Leigh also began programming and producing the Urbantorque Transmission Radio Show, a weekly 60 minute showcase for the sound of Urbantorque, deep electronic music essentially! This show is Podcast from the Urbantorque Website and can be heard on the following Stations; Ibiza Global Radio, Pulse Radio (Australia), Dance Radio (Greece), JustmusicFM (Hungary), Club FM (Macedonia).
